At Northside Vision, we love to participate in events around and outside of our community. We feel so blessed and love to give back. Look below at some of the awesome opportunities we have had!
Holiday Can Drive - December 2014
In December 2014, we organized a can drive in order to donate to Miracle Hill Ministries. Miracle Hill was founded in 1937 and is dedicated to providing food, shelter, clothing, personal development, addiction recovery support and residential and foster care for children.
This ministry exists so that homeless men, women, and children hear about Jesus Christ and become productive members of society. We are proud to support this awesome ministry and look forward to next year's drive!
Special Olympics Fall Games - Saturday, October 19th
We had the opportunity to participate in the Special Olympics Fall Games Opening Eyes program in Greenville, SC!
The Healthy Athletes program aims to educate athletes on healthy lifestyle choices and identify problems that may need additional follow-up. The following are the programs designed to do so: Fit Feet (podiatry), FUNfitness (physical therapy), Health Promotion (better health and well-being), Healthy Hearing (audiology), MedFest (sports physical exam), Opening Eyes (vision) and Special Smiles (dentistry). Pictured on the left is Amy Gilbert giving an athlete his new sunglasses!
Each athlete was screened for visual difficulties including nearsightedness and farsightedness as well as screened for eye disease including glaucoma, lid disease, and corneal disorders. Pictured on the right is Dr. Stiling performing an intraocular examination on one of the 66 athletes!
March of Dimes, March for Babies - Saturday Oct 26th
March of Dimes is an organization that raises money for community programs. These programs are designed to help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. For the walk on Oct 26th, you helped us raise over four hundred dollars to donate to the cause! Look below at some of the pictures taken at the event!
Pictured above is Dr. Stiling's son, Foster, modeling some red Babiators!
Here's the Northside Vision Team at their tent. A free pair of Babiators sunglasses was raffled off at the event!
The Dale B Foster Insurance Agency also attended the event.
Pictured on the right are Dr. Stiling with her mother, Dale Foster, doing some Zumba to warm up for the 5 mile walk! They both had some great fun. The temperature was around 50 degrees so the warm up was greatly needed!
Please be considering donating to our cause. You can go online to www.MarchOfDimes.com at any time to donate to the March of Dimes.
